Maureen graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, one of the foremost law schools in both California and the nation.

Upon graduation, she accepted a position as a litigator with the West Coast law  firm, Tharpe & Howell in Los Angeles. Within months, she was handling her own files from inception through both arbitration and trial. Later, during her tenure with Tharpe & Howell in Santa Barbara, Maureen successfully disposed of cases including a multi-million dollar bad faith insurance case on summary judgment.

Maureen then went into solo practice first in Los Angeles, in 1992 and then in Santa Barbara, after relocating with her family in 1994.    Maureen has successfully resolved personal injury claims totaling in the millions and has litigated many employment law cases, including age, gender and racial discrimination, wrongful termination,  and related claims. She has also successfully handled general civil matters including real property, contractual and business disputes, both litigation and transactional.

Maureen attended the highly regarded Straus Institute at Pepperdine University and graduated from the program Mediating the Litigated Case in 2009.  Since that time, she has been mediating cases for the Superior Courts throughout Los Angeles, and is a panelist for the California Academy of Mediation Professionals.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Maureen graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a bachelors in fine arts and worked as an artist, compiling a catalog of high caliber super-realist paintings and enjoying gallery shows on both the East and West coasts, including  Los Angeles, Santa Barbara,  San Francisco, Mendocino, and other cities.  She continues her artistry in her spare time.
